A close encounterTourism in East Africa received a blow recently when pirates believed to be working for Somali warlords attacked a cruise ship off the coast of Somalia. Using inflatable boats, they attacked the ship with machine guns and a grenade launcher. Nobody was hurt - one grenade went through the side of the ship and lodged into the wall of a cabin without exploding. The captain avoided further damage by steering the ship out of danger.
